Donation supports visually impaired children and adults

As part of the Kimball Office “See People at Work” NeoCon activities, $10,000 was contributed to the Chicago Lighthouse for blind and visually impaired people.
The gift was made possible, in part, by the record number of designers and facility managers who visited the Kimball Office Wells Street showroom during NeoCon this year. Kimball Office donated $10 for every visitor who checked the gift card giveaway code included in their free sunglasses pouch.
“All of us here at the Chicago Lighthouse appreciate this very generous donation from Kimball Office. It will assist our efforts in helping people who are blind or visually impaired lead richer, more independent lives,” says The Chicago Lighthouse Public Relations Director, Dominic Calabrese.
Founded in 1906, the Chicago Lighthouse is one of America’s most comprehensive social service agencies dedicated to assisting people with visual challenges. Kimball Office’s donation will be used to advance one or more of the 24 unique programs offered by the organization. These include the nation’s oldest low vision clinic, a nationally acclaimed school for children with multi-disabilities, and a legal clinic helping blind people fight discrimination.
“Respect, dignity and service are among our core values,” says Jeff Fenwick, Vice President and General Manager, Kimball Office. “We’re honored to be able to support the Chicago Lighthouse in giving Chicagoland’s visually impaired children and adults the skills they need to be valued members of the community.”
