  1. Are your products recyclable at the end of their life-cycle?
Our products are designed to be easily broken-down and separated. These materials can be sent to any local recycling center.

  2. Do you have Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for your products?
End-item products do not have MSDS's.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are designed to provide information needed to handle raw materials safely. They provide the necessary information for manufacturing operator training, hazard evaluation, and proper handling and employee protective equipment.

During the production process, properties of these chemicals will change state. Materials such as adhesives, sealers, finishes, etc... are applied as liquids, which soon afterwards are oven cured or require a drying period. After the curing or drying period, the hazardous material is eliminated.

The MSDS is a record of the chemical used, it does not convey how chemicals used with one another, or chemicals used with raw material, will react.

  3. Do your products meet indoor air quality (IAQ) requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), OSHA, State of Washington (SOW), and the World Health Organization (WHO)?
Various Kimball Office and National products meet the requirements set by the EPA, OSHA, SOW, and the WHO. Check the website for individual product listing.

  4. Are your products Greenguard Certified?
Various Kimball Office and National products are Greenguard Certified. Check the website for individual product listings.

  5. Are your product produced with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified wood?
Kimball's Global Procurement group uses reputable suppliers when procuring wood-based components. FSC Certified wood is not specified at this time.

  6. Are your product produced with rapidly renewable materials?
These materials are not customary for standard products. Rapidly renewable materials can be requested through our By Design group.

  7. Does your company take-back old product at the end of its life-cycle?
Kimball Office and National do not offer a take-back program at this time. However, our products are designed to be easily broken-down and separated. These materials can be sent to any local recycling center.

  8. What packaging environmental initiatives has your company undergone?
Kimball engineering specifications require the use of cardboard with at least 15% post-consumer recycle content. In addition, blanket wrapping is an option for shipping.
